Gopher Monitor Privacy Policy

Gopher Monitor Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 8, 2026
Last updated: October 25, 2026

Gopher Monitor (“the App”) is developed by Dean’s Automation. This
Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses and how it is
used.

NO ADVERTISING OR TRACKING

Gopher Monitor does not use personal information for advertising,
cross-app tracking, or sale. The App contains no advertising SDKs and no
third-party analytics SDKs.

The App does not access or use:

– Location data
– Advertising identifiers
– Contacts
– Photos or media libraries
– Health data
– Third-party behavioral tracking

CAMERA

The App requests camera access exclusively to scan QR codes that link
the App to a Gopher monitoring session. No photos or video are saved by
the App. Camera access is active only while the QR scanner is open.

LOCAL STORAGE

The App saves connection details and account credentials in local device
storage so the user does not have to re-link or sign in after every
launch. These values are sent only to the Gopher service when needed to
authenticate the account or monitoring session.

NETWORK AND SERVICE DATA

The App connects to the Gopher service at planetgopher.com using
encrypted HTTPS and secure WebSocket connections. The service processes
your account sign-in, session data, and the fire alarm panel’s signal
data and screen images that your Gopher device sends, so they can be
shown in the App. Panel screen images pass through the service’s memory
for about two minutes and are not stored. The panel setup you save
(light names and positions) is stored on the service so the App can
show it again.

The App does not sell this information or use it for advertising or
cross-app tracking.

BACKGROUND AUDIO

The App uses iOS background audio mode to continue playing audible
alarm, trouble, and supervisory alerts while the device is locked or
the App is backgrounded during an active monitoring session. The App
does not record audio.

DATA SECURITY

Network communications use encrypted HTTPS and secure WebSocket
connections. Users should protect their device passcode, account
credentials, and session QR codes.

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Gopher Monitor is intended for professional fire alarm inspectors and
life-safety technicians. It is not directed to children under 13.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective
date.
